Press Release Body = Atlanta, GA, September 07, 2006 - Bronner Business Institute (BBI) announced today the 10 finalists in its $25,000 Business Plan Competition. The competition is the first of its kind for BBI and has sparked interest regionally and nationally as it offers one of the largest prizes for general business plan competitions. The contestants are either current or aspiring business owners whose eligibility to compete required evidence of completion of a certified entrepreneurship training course or workshop such as BBI's NxLeveLT Entrepreneurship Series. The BBI Top Ten finalists will next have an opportunity to "pitch" their plans in front of a distinguished panel of lender, angel investor, VC, academic, entrepreneur, corporate and government representatives who will ultimately decide which entrepreneur will win the $25,000 cash grand prize.
The goal of the competition is to provide the winner with an adequate initial financial foundation to start or expand their business. The businesses competing span a variety of industries from health care to retail to, of course, technology. "We are very pleased with the response to the competition and the diversity of business concepts represented in the plans we received, stated Dr. Alfred Watkins, Director of BBI, "This experience has stretched every contestant and made them all winners!"
The BBI Top 10 finalists are Victor Arnold (Celestial Bodies), Steeve Jean-Charles (The Elbow Room), Beverly Kearse (Metro ElderCare), Shaundra Keith (Eden Christian Bookstore), Gayle Link (Gallium Optronics), Asson Michel (Shoe Box), Angela Page (Le Creatif Design Gallery), Michael & Danielle Smith (Mike's Dog House Coney Island), PerStephanie Thompson (Housing For Positive People), and Kimberly Woodward (Traditions Bakery).
The winner will be announced during the October 10th BBI Kingdom Connections networking event, a bi-monthly forum held at the Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral Life Training Center. The event is free and open to the public, but attendees must RSVP.
